A Brief Introduction to Online Forums

For those members who have not previously used a forum either as a guest or a forum member, this is a brief summary of what you may expect:

Forums on the Internet are places where people who have common interests gather to exchange views, experiences or personal stories and in some forums to help educate other members in a particular topic.

Generally, they are an excellent example of the tendency for people to become global citizens and form dynamic on-line communities crossing time zones and breaking geographic limitations.

In some instances, people form firm friendships on-line but that is a by-product of participation and is up to the individual as to how involved they wish to become.

When you arrive at the registration screen, you will need to create a username and password both of which can be anything you like. You will need to supply your email address for administration purposes but you will be offered the option of hiding your email address within the forum.

You will have to read the agreement and check "I Agree" before continuing.

Next you will receive an email with a link to activate your account. This is a security measure to ensure you are a genuine forum member.

If you wish to return to the website for any reason during your session, click on the website button and you will be returned to the home page of the website and you can proceed from there. To return to the forum, go to the forum page and click on "Enter the Forum", it is not necessary to logout if you intend to return soon because the forum will remember that you are already logged in.

When you have finished using the forum, don't forget to logoff, just click the logout button in the menu.
